Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT):

OMT is the therapeutic application of manually guided forces by an Osteopathic Physician/Osteopath to improve physiologic function and/or support homeostasis that has been altered by somatic dysfunction.

This is accomplished by a wide variety of technique approaches. OMT includes all manual therapeutic techniques utilized by Osteopathic Physicians and Osteopaths treating somatic dysfunctions in the parietal, visceral and cranio-sacral system.
