5 models in
Osteopathy:
The 5 models in Osteopathy are conceptualisations or
ways of thinking, which describe how we can analyze
and influence physiologic processes in the patient.

The individuality of our patients and their patterns
of somatic dysfunction require individually designed
treatment regiments that are adjusted to the
patients’ current
health status.
The methods used in the assessment and treatment of
our patients incorporate one or more of these 5
models.
In the years ahead the osteopathic professions will
continue to advance Osteopathic Medicine and
Osteopathy, to protect the value and efficiency of
osteopathy using advancing scientific methods.
